A new soda shop opened up in the Holladay area but really, it is much more than just a soda shop!

The Park 5 sells a wide variety of specialty fountain sodas and specialty drinks. They also have tasty Italian sodas, hand scooped ice cream, all beef hot dogs, freshly baked cookies and gourmet cookies.

The avocado gourmet cookie is a customer favorite but I am partial to the lemon and almond gourmet cookies!

There is indoor and outdoor seating (when weather permits) or for those in a hurry or who just don't want to get out of the car, you can take advantage of the drive-through.

Treats and Trends Catering and Cookies

We recently stopped by The Store in Holladay to try out the Treats and Trends cookies we have been hearing about. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint! There are so many different flavors to choose from, including some unique cookie flavors that you won't find at other bakeries.

We love the classic Vanilla, Dr. Pepper, Lemon and Cotton Candy!
Other flavors we can't wait to try are the Neapolitan, Avocado Cream Cheese, Pistachio, Dirty Diet Coke, Cookie Dough Frosting, Pina Colada, and so many more!

You can find Treats and Trends cookies in both of The Store shops, Jolley's , Pop Shop and of course through custom orders.

One thing you may not know about Treats and Trends is they also do catering. That's right, you can have Treats and Trends cater your private event! They are a full service catering company that will customize a menu to fit your needs. Call for more information.

Taqueria 27

If you are looking for some dang good tacos in Salt Lake, look no further. We have just the place for you. Taqueria 27 serves up some tasty tacos we know you will love!

Have you been to Leslie's French Pastries in Holladay? If not you need to stop in for a few treats!
Leslie's has been baking up amazing breads and desserts for over three decades.

Kids Summer Dollar Movies at Water Gardens Theaters

This summer Water Gardens Theaters in Utah is featuring summer kids movies for a $1 a ticket.
Popcorn, drinks and candy start at one dollar as well.

Thirteen weeks of dollar movies, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Showtimes are 11:00 am or 1:00 pm.  You may have seen some of these movies but it is still fun to see them on the big screen.

Grab the kids and enjoy an air-conditioned break in the day!

Flash Back Friday: Daniel's Fine Chocolates

Have you been to the delicious chocolate shop in Holladay?  Daniel's Fine Chocolates sells handmade chocolates, caramels and  holiday gift ideas and decor.  But their chocolates, oh, their chocolates are wonderful.

The truffles, caramels, seafoam, divinity and nougats are all made and dipped on site.  At any given time, Daniel's Fine Chocolates offers over 40 varieties.  With new varieties debuting each season. 

Each holiday Daniels offer special chocolates, treats, decor items and gifts.

Daniels also makes ganache mousse cakes in many flavors.  Cakes must be ordered in advance, stop in and Daniel will be happy to help you make the perfect flavor selection.

We loved the sea salt caramels, the peanut crunch truffle, the caramel nut crunch and the key lime pie truffle is amazing.   Daniel's Fine Chocolates original Hedgehog is a must try as well.  But don't just take our word for it.  Stop in Daniel's and see for yourself.  You won't be disappointed.

Water Gardens Holladay Theater

Recently we had the opportunity to check out the newly owned movie theater in Holladay, Water Gardens Holladay 6. Water Gardens own theaters in Holladay, Pleasant Grove, and Spanish Fork.

We love how clean they keep the theaters. The new seats are large, comfy and every seat has lots of leg room. That means no more awkwardness sliding past the person at the end  the row.  They even offer reserved seating.

Ticket prices are $3.50, that's right, one price no matter your age or time of day. You can buy your tickets online too. 

Water Gardens Theatres also has great prices on popcorn, drinks and treats. All snacks are either $1, $2 or $3. You can't beat that! You can even get a free popcorn if you sign up for their newsletter.

Cafe Madrid

It's about time we introduce you to Cafe Madrid, one of Salt Lake's favorite restaurants. They even have numerous awards to back that up. Cafe Madrid's authentic Spanish dishes are amazing and sure to please even the pickiest palates. 

Cafe Madrid's newish location is a beautiful stone building on Highland Drive that is adorned with flowers and a fountain out front. They have patio seating and even cozy little booths. Everything about Cafe Madrid is warm and inviting.

We suggest ordering the Tortilla Espanola (requires 24 hour advance notice), it is amazing! We paired it with the Gambas Con Bacon, shrimp sauteed in a red cream sauce. The flavor really complemented the Tortilla Espanola.

We love Cafe Madrid's baby red potatoes or you can order them fried, they are almost like homemade potato chips but much tastier.

Try the grilled beef tenderloin, topped in Roquefort cheese sauce. I am normally not a big fan of Roquefort cheese but this is really quite delicious!

The wait staff is really friendly and can assist you in ordering just the right thing! They know the perfect thing to compliment every order.
