Are you craving some chocolate?  How about fresh made english toffee?  Or maybe some chocolate dipped strawberries?  If so, you're in luck.  We've got a great suggestion for you to take care of that craving.  Stop by Chocolate Cottage in Sandy and pick up some delicious chocolate treats.

But the Chocolate Cottage has so much more than that.  They have a huge selection of holiday chocolates and sweets.

If you are into making your own chocolates, Chocolate Cottage carries a large assortment of colored chocolate wafers and other delicious chocolate that can be bought by the pound.

Disney Store Grand Opening at City Creek Center

Saturday, March 31st, the Disney Store at City Creek Center will have their grand opening. The first 500 guests will receive a free gift.  One lucky child will get to "unlock" and open the new store.  The grand opening begins at 10:00 a.m.

From 12:00-4:00 you can meet and greet Mickey and Minnie Mouse in the City Creek Center's Regent court.  Don't forget your camera to snap a picture with your favorite mouse.

This newest Disney Store features the Disney Store Theater with a 12 foot long curved screen that shows video clips, trailers, music videos and more.  There will also be story telling, character drawing, trivia events and more.

The girls will love the Disney Princess Castle with the talking magic mirror.

The Disney Store also sells Marvel products like Spiderman, Thor, Incredible Hulk and  Captain America. 
95% of the merchandise in The Disney Store is created and sold exclusively at the Disney Store.

Be on the lookout for the magical trees that are changing while you watch, look for Tinkle Bell, Buzz Lightyear, Woody and even some hidden Mickeys.  The custom skyline surrounding the store is unique to the City Creek Center Disney Store.  Look for local landmarks.

9th South Delicatessen

One Saturday, my husband and I decided to venture to a specific place for sandwiches. Unfortunately, they had already stopped serving them by that point in the day, but the guy working at the counter suggested we head down the street to a little deli we had never heard of. We decided to give it a try. That deli was the 9th South Delicatessen. Since that first encounter, we have been back numerous times and always make sure to get extra macaroni salad to go.

9th South Delicatessen is located in the vibrant 9th and 9th area of Salt Lake and the impeccable food, homey decor, and friendly service make it a perfect fit in the area. 9th South Deli boasts having the best pastrami in America. That is no joke. You'll find yourself coming back for more again and again. But then again, just about everything about this place will contribute to that.

The interior is beautifully painted in bright pastels and adorned with various imported goods and other unique food and products. Speaking of unique food, 9th South Deli offers kugel, knish, latka, beet/potato salad, matzo ball and incredible soups. Seriously, 9th South has just about everything you could want from an amazing turkey-cranberry sandwich, to delicious side salads, to wonderful treats and desserts.

City Creek Center

The new City Creek Center is one of the nations largest mixed-use downtown redevelopment projects.  The downtown shopping area features a retractable roof, a pedistrian skybridge, a creek that runs through the property, over 90 stores and restaurants and so much more.

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:15am and then the stores will be open at 10:00 am

The Children's Hour

Named for the poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, The Children's Hour is brimming with all manner of children's books.  The fun does not stop there, this cute little store is busting at the seams with racks and piles of unique goodness.  

Initially, we were deceived by the name (as many of you may be), however, Children's Hour is not exclusively a children's store.  Many of the wares they peddle are uniquely suited for adults, both male and female.

Have you been to Jou Jou at The Grand America Hotel yet? If not we have the perfect excuse for a visit. Saturday, March 24th at 12 noon, Jou Jou will be hosting a complimentary children's book reading with author Kim Williams Justesen.

Kim Williams Justesen, author of "Hey, Ranger!" was born and raised in the Salt Lake Valley. Kim Williams Justesen has a love for nature and writing. She has combined her passions into a series of interactive children’s books titled “Hey, Ranger!" These interactive books answer interesting and funny questions about nature, and give kids an opportunity to use their creative imaginations as they color the pictures.

We think this will be a fun way to introduce your children to a local author and her books.  You and your children will love a trip downtown and a visit to Jou Jou.
