Village Baker

Recently we made a visit to Village Baker in West Jordan.  We had heard so much about the delicious breads, pizza, cookies, sandwiches and more.  We had to try it out for ourselves.  We loved everything we sampled and can't wait to go back for more.

Village Baker makes and bakes their own breads and cookies fresh each day.  They offer 8 types of bread alone.  There are also plenty of cookies and brownies to make anyone happy.
They make their own sauces too.

Village Baker offer a daily lunch special of a slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza for only $1.99.  It's such a big slice it really fills you up.  Perfect for a quick lunch.

There are also plenty of sandwiches being made at Village Baker.  They are made to order, so they are fresh and delicious.  Sandwiches can be ordered in half sizes too.  But don't stop with a sandwich or pizza, Village Baker also has soups and salads.  But make sure you save room for dessert.  Each day they make special k bars, cookies, cinnamon rolls and other treats on a rotating schedule.

Village Baker doesn't have seating.  It's a walk-up and order or call ahead and order take out place.  Just don't forget to buy a loaf of bread for home.

Chunga's Mexican Food

By Kristie Bringhurst from The Resolution

Utah has a lot of great Mexican food. There's no denying that. If authentic Mexico City style Mexican is what you're after however, Chunga's is the place to go. Located in Rose Park, Chunga's is a diamond in the rough and given a five star rating from UrbanSpoon.com. Most recommend getting the al Pastor on your first visit (it's to die for), but no matter what meal you choose, you can be positive it will be packed to the brim with flavor and freshness. The one thing you cannot leave without is a heaping glass of Agua de PiƱa. Frothy and sweet, that drink alone will have you coming back for more. Don't be intimidated by the authenticity. The bilingual staff at Chunga's is friendly and welcoming. Next time you're in the area, don't be afraid to walk in and treat yourself to this Mexican treasure.

You can try to deny the craving for that cheesy goodness above, but we recommend just getting some for yourself. You won't regret it.

Emilie Jayne

A plucky little shop on the South East corner at the 8th and 8th intersection. You won’t miss it because there is always some funky furniture find on the side walk out front.
This second hand shop is so very fun! It’s small, but packed to the rafters with deals galore. Loads of retro items to be found, but the fare spans a century of great styles and pieces. The prices are fair and super deals can be had. I spied a hanging floral lamp last week, the very same thing sold for $100 more on Etsy, than the price it was marked at Emilie Jayne (and no shipping costs).

Besides the deals and the finds, the next best attribute is their rather fetching presentation. The color scheme collections make finding a treasure gift easy, and it all looks so good. They have great turnaround, because it is a different display of items every time I drop by. There is always an array of items ready to be marked and put out for purchase.

Over the years, I Have come away with jewelry, bowls, a Lalique perfume bottle, vases (my downfall), a quilt, furniture and odds and ends, both as gifts and treasures I love. Stop by, meet the friendly attendants, and don’t be surprised if you can’t leave empty handed.

One Sweet Slice

It's easy to love the new specialty cake shop One Sweet Slice in South Jordan. We fell in love with them before even tasting their delicious cupcakes - and believe me, they are delicious.  One Sweet Slice is one of the cutest bakeries around plus your little ones can play in the play kitchen while you enjoy a sweet treat.

Fresh ingredients are always used at One Sweet Slice.  It's no wonder we can't get enough of their savory treats. We especially love the caramel cupcake, the grass hopper cupcake, lemon cupcake and the coconut key lime cupcake.

One Sweet Slice isn't just about cupcakes.  They offer whole decorated cakes, slices of cake, cake
truffles and brownies.  They also have a selection of specialty drinks, including Italian sodas, frozen lemonades, gourmet hot cocoas and frozen cocoas.  You may even want to try their cake shake.

One Sweet Slice offers Cupcake parties too.  In the party area guests will receive hands-on decorating instructions with cupcakes or cakes.  They will decorate their own cupcake and have a choice of specialty drinks.

Lime Ricki Swimwear

Walking into Lime Ricki is like stepping into a hip swim shop right on a beach.  True, Utah is landlocked, and without a beach, but when you pick up a cute suit from Lime Ricki it will make being landlocked much more fashionable.

One of our favorite features of the Lime Ricki swim wear is that it is made to flatter many varied body types, with options in a tankini; halter top; one piece suits; and skirts, to name a few.

With a store front conveniently located on Highland Drive, and multiple other stores carrying their suits, finding the perfect one will be a snap!  As an added bonus, Lime Ricki has a variety of styles for the whole family; including kids, maternity, as well as men and women’s suits.

And, lucky you, as the season comes to a close, the store is featuring some killer deals.  So run, don’t walk to pick up your future favorite swimsuit!

Season's Boutique and a Giveaway

Seasons Boutique in Sandy is a great place to find the latest fashions in womens clothing. Often "Boutique" means expensive.  That is not the case at Seasons Boutique.  They offer affordable, quality clothing for women, sizes S-XL.

Seasons Boutique is a mother-daughter run store that has been in business since 2009. Owners Sharon and Melanie stock the store with coats, jeans, tops, sweaters, skirts, dresses and so much more.  They are often on hand to offer you style advice.

At Seasons Boutique, the inventory is updated every 2-3 weeks with new items coming in all the time.  They also buy a limited amount of each item, so you won't be showing up at the office or your next party and see someone wearing the same outfit you just bought.

Seasons Boutique carries one of a kind handbags, no two bags are alike.  They also sell jewelry and accessories to make up the perfect outfit.

Stop by Seasons Boutique soon to update your fall wardrobe.  We think Seasons Boutique will be your new go to fashion store.
