Gardner Village is a new stop that will officially open Sunday, August 7, 2011. We were recently invited on the first public ride for the new Mid-Jordan TRAX line (the Red line) from Gardner Village out to Daybreak.

I’m excited to be able to hop on the north/south TRAX line and it can now take me right to Gardner Village. We love to go there to see the Witchapalooza displays and petting zoo at Halloween and the Elf displays at Christmas, not to mention all the beautiful boutique fabric, clothing and decor stores.

The new TRAX trains were custom built for UTA and are stroller friendly. We were able to roll right on (no steps) and had plenty of space inside. A nice change from other trains where I have to close my stroller and lug it off and on.

During our trip UTA emphasized safety especially for the kids on the platform and on the train.

TRAIN SAFETY TIPS: Teach kids to stay behind the yellow line while on the station platform and to stay seated or hold onto the poles inside the train – not hang from them like my son did.

*Disclosure: My family was invited for a free test ride on the Red TRAX line.  My husband also works for UTA. I most often use transit for short day trips to take my kids to fun locations around Salt Lake City or to avoid parking for nighttime events downtown. All opinions are honest and 100% mine.
